Unit Evaluation

 Robotics, i enjoyed programming movement in the robot, i also enjoy building the robot,and seeing something that i build actually moving. I had challenges we i had to use the color sensor and the touch sensor. As we did some showcases, i couldn't program my robot to move as i wanted it to. I also had troubles on locating the right distances, and degrees. At the end of this year, i successfully solve my troubles, and knew everything i needed to know how to do

Data Analysis

Data analysis such an important topic today because when you make a claim about something, you will need data to support your claim. It allows to see patterns and problems that might occur in large groups of people. It also helps come up with solutions to the problem that might not have been seen otherwise. In addition, it helps keep bias out of the data so that it becomes more viable. I have found that graphing the data is more effective, because it gives you more room to organize the data. The filter allows you to easily come up with different claims and discoveries, but also gives graphs that corroborate them. 

The Data Continuum

Data is facts and statistics collected together for reference or analysis. Data is the quantities, characters, or symbols on which operations are performed by a computer, being stored and transmitted in the form of electrical signals and recorded on magnetic, optical, or mechanical recording media. Information is facts provided or learned about something or someone. Knowledge is facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject.

Making Discoveries and Claims with Big Data

I believe it is easy to make discoveries and claims with Big Data, because in a Big Data there is enough information to make a claim, or discoveries. As a whole class we each had a data to collect, then put all the class data together to make a clear and easy way to find discoveries, you just have to look at the rolls and find some common data. You are able to make more connections with more information. The more information you are given the easier it is to understand the relationships they share between them. The Big data also makes your claim more creditable, because it backs it up with evidence. With little data it would be harder to draw a conclusion because you have such little information. The more information you have makes for a better argument. The more data can also make it more consistent.  You already have all the necessary evidence to backup your claim if someone came against your claim. With little data it would be hard to draw conclusions since you don't have a ton of information. The more data you have to look at, the easier it is to have an argument and defend it. It also, makes you more creditable.

Big Data

Big Data to me means when the data you are trying to collect is big and that there is a lot of information that you it will be. I think Big Data reveals patterns, codes, and hidden words to find. I think that a data set needs to be extremely large to be qualify as a Big Data, about 2 million it needs to be to be qualify. Base on the name Big Data, and you are trying to find a large amount of data you can collect. Its need to lead to a pattern, or a code. I do think that Big Data has a formal definition, because Big data can also mean that the data is not that big at all.

Programming Project Reflection

Well i love games, so i made a game of a basketball dream. I chose a dream because i will love to be a basketball player someday. That is my biggest dream, i want to be famous in this world. I choose game because i know how to make games, and also love to play them. My biggest challenge in this game was making my sprite move left, that is the only thing i need to work on, all the rest wall easy for me. I had success on making the sprite move right, jump, stop the time, score, infact i had success in everything i needed except moving the sprite move left.

Timing Game Reflection

I think i did well on making the sprites have movements, and i did good on timing the game. To improve my game game, i will put more instructions to it, most people wouldn't know how to play m game. I also need to improve on each of the sprites take time to work.

Timing Game Planning

My Timing Game is a ping pong game. At the bottom of my background, there is a red line were if the ball touches it, the program will stop. You can move your paddle left, right, down, and up to hit the ball. I have three sprites for now, a ball, paddle, and directions for the sprites. Every time when someone hits the ball with the paddle and the ball goes up, your score will increase by 1, but if the ball touches the red line, your score will reset. Your will have 20 seconds to have as many points as you can in that time.

My Thoughts on my First Program

In my "Rock, Paper, Scissors" program, i made three sprites, one for rock, the other for paper, and

scissors. I set the rock to 0, the paper to 1, and the scissors to 2 when the green flag is clicked. I made the rock go to a random number, and used a lot of broadcast, and receive blog. When the green flag is clicked, all of the sprites will reset to the original place, also the numbers. I mostly used the equal too blogs for my sprites to work properly. I also said who won and who lose. For me it was very difficult to say who won at the end, and who lose. I had to do a lot of programming to this to work. I had success in changing sprites to rock, paper, or scissors. You could choose which want you want in case to win.

What is a variable

I think Variable mean able to be changed or adapted. Able to fix a pattern. Naming variables is known as one of the most difficult tasks in computer programming. When you are naming variables, think hard about the names. Try your best to make sure that the name you assign your variable is accurately descriptive and understandable to another reader. Sometimes that other reader is yourself when you revisit a program that you wrote months or even years earlier.

My Reflection on my Story

My story was a simple story about my family and our daily day activities. It about how me and my brother asked my parents to play at the basketball court. I challenged my brother to a basketball match, if I lose, I clean his room, and if he loses, he does the dishes. Then we went to the pool where we say our sister that didn't want us to go to the pool because we stinks. W then decided to go to our rooms. I did well on the dialogue, each one of them took turns, they didn't talk at the same time. There was a lot of says in the story. I need to work on making the sprite move, or glide. I need some movements in the story. One thing I will do different is remove some of the dialogue, because there was a lot of them.

In computer programming, event-driven programming a programming paradigm in which the flow of the program is determined by events such as user actions (mouse clicks, key presses), sensor outputs, or messages from other programs/threads.In an event-driven application, there is generally a main loop that listens for events, and then triggers a callback function when one of those events is detected.

How do computer programmers on know what the user wants to do next?

. When you ask the computer to do something, like reminding you about something, or tell you the time or tell you the news

. The computer can ask user what to do.

. You need to press enter for the program to go to what you want

Writing Code in Scratch

It was easy to draw a sprite, or import it. It was easy for me to make the backgrounds switch each time to another one, and changing the color of a sprite. It was difficult for me to reset  my script each time I am done programing it. It was also hard to draw on scratch because it is a computer. I had to write my last name on scratch, and make the letters do different things, like spinning, changing color, and making it say something like hello.

How do you think programs like Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer and Windows are made?

By pure assumptions, I think they are created by writing scripts and commands. For ex. a program such as a calculator you would write commands that input the correct algorithm. This is the same for these programs, whenever you click or type something, it sends a command to the website and triggers the script to do the action, or output to the input.

What I Know About Memes

A memes is a humorous image, video, piece of text, etc., that is copied (often with slight variations) and spread rapidly by Internet users.
It’s not about how many people have seen it, it’s about how many people have made parodies, remixes, mutations and the like.
Is there a finite number for derivatives though?
Hmm.
That’s a question that I have no idea how to answer.Memes should not be seen as a link building tool, but rather as an effective promotional and marketing tool. Viewers can relate better to a meme than a long article. Thus it is effective in creating a loyal online following base, where they can keep on coming back to your website. The meme can create ‘trust’ and ‘loyalty’ in your web base, an integral value in marketing.

A bit about Joel Nkem

I am in 9 grade, and I like to play basketball, I hope I make the basketball team next year because I am trying out for the team. my favorite food is pizza, I like to create new things, because one day I hope to be an engineer. I love playing games, my favorite is NBA2k. I can play for a day. I had Mr. Anderson last semester, he was really fun because I learned a lot in that class that I didn't know. We worked on creating games in scratch, worked on drawing in adobe, and worked on creating a website in Wix. my favorite was working in scratch, I had the chance to create my own character, then I create a game that I love. My lease favorite was drawing in adobe because it was a lot of work trying to figure out what to do.
